Originally branding himself MC New York, 2Pac incorporated influences from the East and West Coasts, not to mention the South, to create a universalist message and sound that explains why murals of him can be found all the way to Sub-Saharan Africa. And as Death Row Records’ strain of gangsta rap defined the middle years of the decade, he became the label’s avatar. But there was also the funkadelic player (“I Get Around”), the insular loner (“Me Against the World”), the savage warlord (“Hit ’Em Up”), and the sensitive poet (“Brenda’s Got a Baby”). For much of his career, he embodied this revolutionary, fight-the-power ethos on songs like “Trapped” and “Keep Ya Head Up,” befitting the Afrocentric, conscious-minded milieu of the early ’90s. He was born Lesane Parish Crooks in 1971, but his mother (a Black Panther leader) swiftly changed his name to Tupac Amaru Shakur in honor of the last Incan emperor to perish while resisting Spanish rule. Even if his legend has become a tall tale, his music remains an indelible testament to the multitudes he contained.
In fact, his closest analog may not be late rival The Notorious B.I.G., but rather dorm-room icons of the mythologized past: Jimi Hendrix, Bob Marley, and James Dean. Rather, it should be deemed "Legendary".2Pac is arguably the most influential rapper of all-time. This cd only contains 12 tracks but each and every one is fire. This cd was dropped right after all eyez on me. The fact that the album was released only 2 months after his death, leaves us thinking of the controversy and conspiracies surrounding his death. Overall, this album holds something very different compared to Tupac’s earlier work. Tracks such as Hail Mary and Blasphemy display this chilling and disturbing affect upon the listener. The album contains a very dark and mysterious quality as Tupac’s alter ego, Makaveli, can almost be felt lurking through each track of the album. Tupac’s anger and rage is displayed on such tracks as Bomb First and Against All Odds as he unmercifully attacks each and every one of his adversaries. Not only does it distinguish Tupac’s political side, as he describes the harsh world surrounding him White Man’s World, Hold Ya Head, but he also touches upon the dark, introspective insights of his life Life Of An Outlaw, Krazy. The Don Killuminati is one of Tupac’s most masterful pieces of work. This album is a darker version of me against the world It had some of Tupacs old stuff, but overall it was very good. I felt the the CD was going to be a little better than what I thought. My review of "Tupac" The Don Killuminati, 7 day theory That statement might be true he was the realest mc ever and this was him at his peak to bad it ended so quick this and all eyes on me where a sign of things to come we are all missing out with all eyez on me and this thats two classic albums back 2 back oops i forgot about me against the world thats three classics back to back wow this and me against the world in my opinion are his best get this u should already have it or had it and are buying it again its good enough to have 2 copies the first one will get worn out you play it soo much This last album before he was put to rest is one of his best!! I higjly recommned it if you are a true Tupac AKA Makaveli fan. 2Pacs fifth album, his first album to be posthumously released. I miss Tupac! He was such a talent in his own right.
